چکیده

House crickets (Acheta domesticus) are increasingly being used as food. This has the potential for a more efficient food production that also may benefit agroecosystems. As first study to compare feeds based on European wild flowering plants feed house we examined five common known support biodiversity of insects (white clover (Trifolium repens), white nettle (Lamium album), (Urtica dioica), rough comfrey (Symphytum asperum) and gypsophila (Gypsophila paniculata). These control diet were fed dried sole ad libitum one-day-old 62 days in climate-controlled laboratory. Cricket weight, mortality intake recorded every 7 days. An additional test preferences forages effect maturation by providing free choice rapeseed wheat meal either an early- or late-cut red pratense) Mortality nettle, exceeded 80% days, so these removed from trial after 14 Survival was 59% 28 average cricket weight similar. By day 62, 32 mg, compared with 201 mg feed. In test, consumed 15-30% clover, 31-37% 39-64% rapeseed. Crickets access showed higher (P<0.001) proportion adults (28%) (5%). We conclude during early growth stages, supplementation increase maturation. Using including rearing additionally benefits lower costs.

Evolution of fruit development genes in flowering plants

The genetic mechanisms regulating dry fruit development and opercular dehiscence have been identified in Arabidopsis thaliana. In the bicarpellate silique, valve elongation and differentiation is controlled by FRUITFULL (FUL) that antagonizes SHATTERPROOF1-2 (SHP1/SHP2) and INDEHISCENT (IND) at the dehiscence zone where they control normal lignification. SHP1/2 are also repressed by REPLUMLESS ...

Significance and survival of Enterococci during the house fly development.

House flies are among the most important nonbiting insect pests of medical and veterinary importance. Larvae develop in decaying organic substrates and their survival strictly depends on an active microbial community. House flies have been implicated in the ecology and transmission of enterococci, including multi-antibiotic-resistant and virulent strains of Enterococcus faecalis. In this study,...

Reproductive cross-talk: seed development in flowering plants.

Flowering plants have evolved to be a predominant life form on earth. A common principle of flowering plants and probably one of the main reasons for their evolutionary success is the rapid development of an embryo next to a supporting tissue called the endosperm. The embryo and the endosperm are protected by surrounding maternal tissues, the integuments, and the trinity of integuments, embryo ...
